Building in Thailand

On arrival in Hua Hin 7 years ago. I could not believe the prices of houses, beautiful big houses at a fraction of the price I was selling similar houses in Australia for. That was until I inspected the interior of these houses, they were built to a very poor and unacceptable quality. This caused us a major problem as there was a demand for houses built to European or Australian standards.

We came up with the idea of building our own homes using local builders. That turned out to be a nightmare, they say they understand and they don't , the result you are for ever pulling walls down and having to make dramatic changes all the time. We were not the only people to recognize the potential of the Hua Hin area. And we are happy to report that there are several excellent and competent builders building top quality houses in the Hua Hin and Cha–am area.
